About Us

Midwest Ag Group was founded in 2018 as Hasche Insurance, Inc., primarily writing MPCI and Hail policies in East Central South Dakota.

We’ve grown quickly over the years and are licensed in over 25 states. As we expand, we have now determined that it’s time for a brand change.

Our approach

We are committed to finding you insurance coverage to protect your family, farm, and future. We are a team of individuals with deep roots in agriculture who are passionate about helping people. Today, our main focus is agriculture, but we can also assist you if you have a construction company, small business, Airbnb rentals, and livestock mortality insurance.

Meet the Team

  • Steve Hasche

Steve is a lifelong resident of Lake Preston, South Dakota, where his family has deep roots in agriculture. His great-grandfather homesteaded the family farm in 1902, and some of their land has been in the family for over a century. Steve grew up raising registered Charolais cattle and running a commercial Angus herd, in addition to farming.

In 2010, Steve started work as a crop adjuster, first for RCIS and then as a Claims Supervisor for Great American Crop Insurance in 2014. Overseeing Eastern South Dakota and parts of surrounding states, he managed a team of 30 adjusters and helped his crews out on thousands of claims throughout the years. This valuable experience gave Steve keen insights into how insurance responds to agricultural challenges. Now licensed in crop, P&C, and life insurance across 9 states, Steve's lifelong agriculture involvement makes him a valuable part of the Midwest Ag Group team.

Now licensed in crop, P&C, and life insurance to over 25 states, John leverages his expertise to help clients utilize the cash value in their life insurance policies to fund their farming operations or businesses.
